Glasses Malone Says Joey Bada$$ Should Expect a Kendrick Lamar Response to His Diss

Glasses Malone is confident Kendrick Lamar is going to respond to Joey Bada$$ in due time.

On Tuesday (May 20), Malone — who was shouted out by Lamar at the Grammys earlier this year — was asked on X if he thought Lamar should respond to Joey’s recent string of freestyles where he mentions the Compton rapper. “Joey know sure as sh— bars are coming his way,” he claimed. “When is the question.”

Joey Bada$$ kicked off a bicoastal rap battle at the top of the year with the release of “The Ruler’s Back,” where he reused an old Jay-Z line about all the attention the West Coast was getting after Kendrick’s victory over Drake.

He then invited Kendrick to a battle on his Ray Vaughn response track “The Finals,” and brought him up again on the song “My Town” featuring battle rap legend Loaded Lux where he mentions Lamar’s “boogeyman” status within the game and referenced his Pulitzer win with some wordplay. The rapper later did his best West Coast rapper impersonation on “Crash Dummy,” where he again mentioned Lamar’s nickname multiple times over a flip of 2Pac‘s “Hit Em Up” beat. “What’s the current situation? N—as just clickbaitin’,” he rapped. “How predictable, this the angle I was anticipating/ And thank you for making it clear to me that Dot scared, but yeah I was at the party, but I also saw Top there.”

Billboard has reached out to Kendrick’s camp for comment. Check out Glasses Malone’s post below:
