The CUBE Entertainment group – previously known as (G)I-DLE – announced a rebrand earlier this month (May 2), along with plans to release two collections of music. Later that day, they dropped the album ‘We Are i-dle’, which featured re-recordings of some of their biggest hits including ‘LATATA’.
Yesterday (May 19), i-dle dropped their eighth mini-album ‘We Are’, containing all-new releases. The six-track EP is led by the single ‘Good Thing’, which has been accompanied by its own music video.
The music video for ‘Good Thing’ sees the group’s various members put through several scenarios, including smashing a Porsche, getting into fights and more.
‘Girlfriend’, the second track off ‘We Are’ was previewed earlier this month. Other tracks on the EP include ‘Love Tease’, ‘Chain’, ‘Unstoppable’ and ‘If You Want’.
The rebrand and releases come after CUBE Entertainment in April confirmed that the girl group would be making a comeback in May after all five members renewed their contracts with the label late last year.
Prior to the rebrand, (G)I-DLE’s last release was July 2024’s ‘I Sway’, their seventh mini-album. The record featured lead single ‘Klaxon’. ‘I Sway’ was also the follow-up to their January full-length record ‘[2]’, the album that won them the Record of the Year Grand Prize at the 2024 MMAs.
In the time since their last release together, Thai member Minnie made her solo debut earlier this year with the mini-album ‘Her’. Minnie enlisted bandmate Yuqi for B-side song ‘Drive U Crazy’, while NCT’s Ten lent his vocals to ‘Obsession’.
Meanwhile, Chinese bandmate Yuqi also dropped a digital single titled ‘Radio (Dum-Dum)’ in March.
